In 2018, Rob Morrison founded Covehead Seafoods so he could share his homemade PEI lobster dip with seafood lovers across Canada and beyond. A second generation lobster fisher with an experimental side and plenty of lobster on hand, Rob knew the key to a superb lobster dip was loads of PEI lobster and just the right blend of spices. He spent years (no exaggeration) tweaking his recipe and sharing it with family and friends around the kitchen table and on camping trips. The verdict was unanimous – everyone loved the dip and insisted he take it to market.
With his family’s support, Rob took the leap and hasn’t looked back since. During an exciting first year, he took home the grand prize of $25,000 from Innovation PEI’s Ignition Fund in the Food Island Partnership Food Xcel program for his incredible dip showcasing PEI lobster. He also won over the folks at beloved PEI retailer, MR Seafoods, who quickly became the main distributor (and a big advocate) of Covehead Seafoods’ Premium PEI Lobster Dip.
Rob and his family (wife, Janice; parents, Captain Fred and Pat; and his lobster fishing sons, Landon and Greg) look forward to sharing a taste of their idyllic seaside life in Covehead, Prince Edward Island with you. Try one of Covehead Seafoods’ dips and you’ll understand why lobster dip is best when made by those who live the lobster fishing life.
